Yup, that’s my name. However, people often have a hard time to say it properly, so they just go with Jao, Jay, Joe, or Joel… I will go by any of those. No problem!

I'm a Creative Designer originally from Lisbon, based in Amsterdam since 2020.

Before coming tom Amsterdam, I spent about 8 years in London, where I completed a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts. During my time there, I gained significant experience working as a designer, which has shaped my multidisciplinary approach to design today.

I’m particularly passionate about Advertising, Branding, Information Design, and Icons & pictograms. I also have skills in HTML & CSS and enjoy working on Motion Graphics projects.

When I’m not designing, you’ll likely find me engaged in some sort of sport — whether it’s playing padel, football, or hitting the gym. I also enjoy cooking and savoring good food, traveling or taking photos! And, of course, I’m a die-hard S.L. Benfica fan!
